Welcome To NeutrogenaSkinID.org

Neutrogena's Skin ID has become one of the most powerful acne products in America. Neutragen's success can be attributed to it's attempt at personalized skin products. Skin ID is one of the few products that tries to cater to the different skin type that each acne sufferer may have. By finding the skin type and providing unique numbers for users, Skin ID provides 12 different cleansers, 32 acne treatments, and 53 different moisturizers that attempt to treat acne according to the different skin types.

But, Does It Actually Work?

Unfortunately, when you look passed the unique concept, B-list celebrity endorsements, and flashy packaging, you have an expensive product that varies in how oily your face may be. It seems like a novel approach, but fell short of its goal. When studying the ingredients for the different mixtures, most of the varying products had the same basic ingredients. The sensitive skin formula was even treated with benzoyl peroxide which can further agitate sensitive skin. We also found it contains potentially harmful ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and titanium dioxide. Although we have reports of many happy users, we similarly have seen more unsatisfied customers using Skin ID.

SkinID®

It all comes down to one thing, does it actually help you get rid of acne or not? Well NuetrogenaSkinID.org was created just for this purpose. We wanted to hear from you. We want to know of its effectiveness, side effects, customer support, money back guarantee, and more. If you have an opinion on Skin ID, we want to know about it. Share with us your opinion on Skin ID by writing in below. We keep detailed record of your reviews and tally them up so that you can tell what others are saying about Skin ID. It is your turn to be heard, so don't be shy and share your knowledge about Skin ID.

“I used for about 6 months, I do not like it. It does make the acne disappear fast but it does not prevent break ups. I usually don't have acne on my cheeks, only the "T" zone, but I got lots of them with skin id. Before skin id I used proactiv which prevented more but it took to long to clear up. I gave it neutral or 3 stars because it clear up fast, smells good, and I love their mask/cleanser; but it does not prevent new acne.”

“Worked beautifully for me. I saw results overnight. Any acne that I had cleared up. (It should be noted that my acne is by no means stubborn. I'm not sure how this product would work for serious cases.) Admittedly, at first I was horrified by how dry my skin got. After the first two weeks, though, my skin got used to the harshness of the product and became smooth and soft. I've seen a definite reduction in pore size, I don't break out anymore, and any wayward pimple is quickly zapped by the on the spot treatment that came with my regiment. I've now been using skin id for three months, and I can't be happier with the results I've seen. I can watch television and honestly say I have nicer skin than most Hollywood starlets.”

“http://www.neutrogenaskinid.org/images/btn-neutral.png "Is Neutrogena Skin iD the real deal?" Many ask this question. It seems that since it's specially personalized, it's ought to work, right? While it is true that different skin types work better with different regimens, Neutrogena Skin iD is really no different than many other acne treatments. My mother has been an excellent pediatrician for over 20 years. When I became interested in Neutrogena Skin iD, I asked her first to review the products that had been selected for me. It turns out that the active ingredients in each product (in other words, the only ingredient that works in battling acne) was already present in all of my current acne products! I can't say that I have spent more than $20 on all my current acne products together. As my mother said, "Why spend forty dollars on something that people already have or can easily buy for half that price?" I am very sure that Neutrogena Skin iD works. I encourage all to go along and take the test. However, I don't recommend purchasing your personalized regimen unless you don't mind parting with more cash than you necessarily need to. Note the active ingredients in your personalized Neutrogena Skin iD products and possibly head down to the skincare aisle in Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, etc. See if you can't find cleansers, anti-acne products, and moisturizers with the same amounts of those active ingredients. I hope this helped. I wish everyone the best of luck on their way to clearer skin! Love, Jasey”

“I began the 3 step treatment consisting of the foam cleanser, acne treatment and hydrator. Within a few days I noticed that my skin felt cleaner, pores were less clogged and my acne was dramatically reduced with no new breakouts. This is by far the best product that I've used with the quickest results. I'm 34 years old and have struggled with acne for many years and have tried many products. I haven't experienced any side effects like redness or drying and haven't had any allergic reactions. So far, I think this product is great! If you have oily skin like me, definitely give it a try.”

“The product itself is not any better than what you might find in the stores. Read the ingredients list and it is just like others at a much higher price. What really gets to me is the customer service. I tried the product and returned it before the 30 day trial period. I got my money back which was not the actual problem. I called on May 8th to cancel my account and they assured me it was canceled. I got another shipment today and guess what? I was billed 50.74 for this new shipment. I called customer service and they let me know that the two people who I spoke to never actually canceled my account. If you return it, make sure you get a case number and the name of the person who you are speaking to. I suggest you ask them how long it will take for the cancellation to go through and then call back and make sure they canceled it (take that person's name down as well. I will never buy this product again. By the way this stuff really irritated my skin, even when used as directed.”

“Ok so my first time using skin id my face felt great but about 15 mins later it started itching and burning and i thought maybe my skin is adjusting or something. well i woke up the next morning and my mouth, eyes and cheeks were swollen, red and burning and itching like crazy!!!!!!!! my acne looks better but not that anyone would notice now that my face looks like it has a huge rash on it! for any of you who hav had exzema it itches/burns like that on my face. so for acne clearing its good but the cost looks wayyyyyy worse then acne.also i agree with those of you who said the products are pretty much the same...anybody remember those white and orange neutrogena bottles?...the stuff is pretty much the same as whats in those.”

“I've had a hard time with acne ever since I was a teenager. I would always laugh at my brother when he started getting zits, and I wouldn't even get a single one and would never wash my face either. I guess karma got me because as I got older I began developing severe cystic acne that would come and go. Really bad flare ups that would give me 12 cystic pimples on one cheek over the course of like 3 days. I began taking oral antibiotics and topical creams to keep the acne suppressed and it worked absolutely perfectly. I eventually grew tired of having to be dependent on these daily pills that I had been taking for practically 2 years straight(that can't be healthy for you), and weened myself off of it. The acne came back with a vengeance and I was so very close to refilling my old prescription when I saw a commercial for SkinID. It wasn't that expensive, it was made by Neutrogena(which is like the Godfather of the acne world) and I had nothing to lose, except my acne. I took the evaluation and began using it soon after it arrived. Let me just say one thing, I had my doubts since I had used Proactiv before and it completely ruined my skin. My SkinID was 7/09/32 which was a 2%BP cream cleanser, followed by a 2%SA Toner and then followed by a 2%BP topical. In 2 weeks, most of my cysts were shrinking away into oblivion and I was so happy. I had continued using it for 3 more months and my skin had never looked better, so much so that one day I came home and my Mom saw my face and teared up because it looked so healthy/clean/clear. Eventually I began having a reaction which started making my face dry out very badly, which hadn't happened before. I switched myself off of the Toner and everything went back to normal, so I knew the Toner was the culprit. I spoke with a SkinID representative and asked that they switch out the Toner for a moisturizer(I didn't plan on using the Toner anymore, and didn't want to pay for it if I wasn't going to use it) so my new SkinID became 07/32/53 which is the same cream cleanser and topical BP but now I had a .5%SA Moisturizer. I get a zit here and there, but they are NEVER cysts and after some TLC on those specific areas, they eventually die and shrink away in a week. I've been a SkinID user for about 9 months, and will never replace it. In fact, I already ordered 2 refills because I will be leaving for Basic Training(US Army) in September and there's no way the military will keep me from having clear skin. I've seen good posts and bad posts, and quite frankly that's normal. There is no such thing as a treatment that works effectively on 100% of the people who try it, that's just a medical fact. No matter how personalized you make this stuff, there are too many individual factors to take into account. It's free for 60 days, there customer service reps are right on, so you have nothing to lose by trying it.”

“Im currently using Proactiv. It works on and off.Like right now Im using the refining mask, which I usually wear i,n bed or while Im in the house for a long period of time.I recently went to Walmart and brought Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit cleanser.I used it with Proactiv and 2 days later I was flared up with rash all over my face.I started doubting neutrogena products, but I cant because I did mix it.I ordered skin id because I think its worth the try.Im now awaiting my first shipment and Im very excited. Its stressing me out just wondering if Im going to have a wonderful experience.I learned that eating healthy can help 85% of acne prone skin.Exercise as well.Good luck to you all.Prayer Helps more than any solution!”

“I love SkinID! It has gone above and beyond proactiv! My skin is FINALLY clear. I'll have an occasional breakout, but the pimple lasts nowhere near as long as it would if I was still using proactiv. “I am happy with the product and its control of my problems. Although, I am very dissatisfied with the customer service's lack of help. For the price of this product and in these economic times I tried to only order a part of my "system" and was told that I had to get all 3, but they could push off the send date and I could intermittently call for wash when I was low. You cannot pick and choose what you want shipped annually which is outrageous. Nor do they notify you when a shipment is being sent thus it was sent to my old address as I though I'd canceled my order. Overall a very annoying experience. For a fraction of the price possibly go to your dermatologist get a prescription and get products when you need with expert (PERSONAL!) consultation. After all they're looking at your face and skin not a survey plus they've had the benefit of graduate school.”

“I want to be clear that I'm giving the product a negative review because of MY results. I complete understand that different people will get different results. My regimen was 14.32.72. Product #32 is a harsh anti-acne treatment that contains benzoyl peroxide. I am highly allergic to benzoyl peroxide. What is disappointing to me is that I indicated in the skinID evaluation that I have very sensitive skin, which probably should have clued them in that benzoyl peroxide was a bad idea for me. I know they have other products that don't contain this ingredient. The process of returning and cancelling my membership was overly difficult as well. Instead of just giving me my money back and closing my account, I had to talk to 3 different people and explain in graphic detail the allergic reaction I had to the products. The first person I talked to tried to convince me that my skin was SUPPOSED to be red, itchy, and flaky after using this product. I don't think so. Dry is one thing. Red and itchy is another. Finally, they agreed to credit my card and cancel my account.”

“Once upon a time there was a teenage girl named Kaylen who had the ugliest acne in the world. Well Kaylen thought that this skin iD commercial would be like a Cinderella story for her skin. But boy was she super WRONG!... So I put this stuff on one night and the next morning my face was bright red, itchy, super dry, and not to mention DOUBLE the acne! I had the hugest zits all over my face especially my forehead and I looked like a monster. I had to wear a bag over my head that day. Not to mention the R-tarded people at Neutro-damn-gena's would not refund my purchase. I had to call like a million people and then they finally gave it up. One lady even said that my skin was supposed to be dry and red. NO it shouldn't be that way stupid lady!! “Yeah so I ordered this stuff to get rid of my acne. I took the quiz and everything, I have very sensitive skin so I put that in my quiz. Well what do they give me? Possibly the harshest acne solution out there, with benzoyl peroxide and many harsh chemicals. After one use my face turned bright red like a cherry and then all these crazy bumps just started popping out of nowhere! Next thing you know I look like someone with hives and my face just started peeling! I think I lost all my skin because if I were to use this another time, it would peel so badly that I wouldn't have any more skin. I was itching my face constantly that day and I was so mad so I called Neutrogena. I told them the issue but they just kept asking me questions about how bad my allergic reaction was. They said if it wasn't peeling too bad, there is no more than 2x the acne before, and your face is lighter than a certain color (they told me to look up a color palette for this one) then it wasn't worth a refund. Some dumb lady also said that my face was GOING to be ugly after this product. WTF? This is just saying your product sucks! Well you know what? You can SUCK IT Neutrogena because you are a waste of time and money, you also make people feel uglier!”

I have oily skin and the first week I developed some dryness, irritation, and peeling. Also I noticed that the products began to bleach all of my towels and some clothing. “Did not like the results I received from the ID Evaluation. I was recommended the exact regimen that is shown in every advertisement photo. The 14 Cream Cleanser, the green 72 Hydrator, and the acne treatment. I answered everything as accurately as I could, even though my face is combination, but not T combination as shown, I only have acne on my cheeks. And still it recommended me a cream based regimen, which is contrary for what my skin needs. Cream cleansers have always worsen my skin's condition and esthetisist and dermatologist have advised me to keep away from them and any moisturizer even if it says oil-free.I thought it would recommend me some of the stuff that usually works for me like foam and gel cleansers or toners.”

“Just wanted to tell of my recent experience with Neutrogena. For the record, ProActiv works just as well, if not better, than Skin ID, and they don’t treat their customers so badly. Here is a copy of 2 emails sent today to Neutrogena regarding my experience: From: Jennifer Booker Sent: Tuesday, December 29, 2009 11:00 AM To: ’support@skiniD.com’ Subject: Extremely Dissatisfied (former) Customer Importance: High To Whom it May Concern (or more accurately, not concern in the least, based on my recent experience with what you call “Customer Service”), I’m writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Neutrogena. I ordered your Skin ID product for my daughter, and received a few shipments. While she seemed to like the product, it was just piling up too much, as you are apparently very optimistic regarding how much of the product your customers are actually using. I called on June 30, 2009 to cancel our membership for this reason. I spoke with a representative named Ryan who advised that we could simply put our account “on hold,” which he assured me would mean there would be no further shipments unless we called, and would allow for member pricing (see transaction 494808). I agreed to this solely based on his statement that no further product would be shipped without authorization. That was my first mistake. Naturally, Ryan’s offer proved false, as this past Saturday morning (Dec 26th) I was reconciling my checkbook on line and discovered that there was a $50.14 charge applied by you on December 23rd. I immediately called and spoke with Debbie, who stated that my account was not canceled as I thought it was, but rather that I had authorized an extension on shipping back in June. She also stated that an email confirming this had been sent. At this time, I did not have my notes with me regarding my phone call in June, and explained that I never authorized any additional shipment and that I never received any email to this effect. Debbie did process a cancellation on the account (see transaction 669695), and explained that after I received and returned the product, I would have to wait up to 45 days for the credit to be refunded. This is outrageous to me, as this shipment was never authorized! Debbie stated that there were no supervisors in, and that the only one who “returned phone calls” would not be in until Monday. Debbie took my number and assured me that I would receive a call from a supervisor on Monday. I believed her – mistake number 2. After finding my notes from the original call in June with Ryan, which confirmed that I never authorized additional shipments, I waited for my call to come. This morning (Tuesday Dec 29th), I spend nearly 20 minutes on hold attempting to resolve this matter. I finally spoke with a supervisor named Melony and again explained the situation to her. Melony offered the standard, seminar-driven, “I understand your frustration, but…” but proved to be no help whatsoever. My request is simple. Return my money, which you were never authorized to take in the first place, and do it immediately. There is no reasonable explanation for the fact that this request is not being processed right away. Melony stated that she confirmed the email was successfully sent, which is all fine and good, but I never got it. Further, I told Melony to pull up the recorded phone call with Ryan from June 30, which would indeed support that he told me no shipments would be sent UNLESS WE CALLED. After putting me on hold yet again, Melony came back on the line to say that she would have to reach out to your IT department in order to retrieve the archived telephone recording since it has been so long. After she listens to it, she has stated that she will then call me back. That is where we stand as of this moment. I am waiting for the returned call in absolute shock at the lack of respect and apathy with which your organization evidently feels is an appropriate way to deal with your customers. For $50.00 you have chosen to throw a customer away. I don’t care how good you think your product is, is it not good enough to have to endure this ridiculous treatment! This could have been resolved easily enough. I understand that mistakes are made and I also understand that Ryan and I could have come away with different interpretations of how our conversation in June actually went. It is for this reason that I am truly hoping that Melony is able to find the original recording, as she seems to be implying that I am lying by making such a big deal out of finding it. You could have simply apologized for the miscommunication and processed a refund of my money. But that wasn’t your approach. Instead, I have paid for a product that I had not received (until yesterday, Dec 28th) that I did not request, and I continually wait for Neutrogena to do the right thing. Instead, you have simply said, “Screw you, Customer; we’ll process the refund whenever we get around to it!” These are really tough times for you to be so cavalier and to treat your customers with such disdain. Well done, Neutrogena. I am still waiting for Melony to return my call and to do the right thing (i.e. process the refund TODAY). I have very low expectations that she will, at this point, but still, I wait. In the meantime, I want it known that you made what could have been an small matter into a very big deal. In the process, you’ve lost a customer for more than just Skin ID. If you’ve done nothing else right in this situation, you have at least accomplished that. Jennifer Booker ______________________ So, I just received a call from Brain, as Melony has evidently left for the day (what a surprise). According to Brian, who is speaking according to Melony, Ryan advised me on our June 30th call that he would send an email, and that I was also told when the new shipment date would be. I call BULL on that, and asked to listen to the phone call myself. Helpful Brian was unable to accommodate that request (another surprise), but gladly took my information to leave for Melony, who will be returning on Wednesday. So, I now get to wait until Wednesday for some more baloney from your well trained “Customer Service” supervisory staff. Ultimately, you will have to process this credit anyway. I remain baffled that you’d rather make your customers wait for money you will have to return anyway while you call them liars, all in the name of Procedure. But, at least Brian “understands.” I’ll take comfort in that, I suppose. Does anyone else find this as utterly pointless as I do?”

“acne makes your skin inflamed. benzoyl peroxide is a very harsh alkaline chemical. anyone with inflammation should not use a chemical of this nature. the regimen neutrogena recommends to individuals with any kind infection/ inflammation is surprising. you would think their "dermatologists" would say "hey! this individual has sensitive skin and cystic acne, we should not give them this spot treatment." but they don't and people develop sensitivities and even allergies due to the chemical burns they receive. as with everything it is hit and miss. I would recommend having someone really create a personalized skin care regimen for you at either your dermatologist office or by your esthetician.”

“I\\\'ve always had a hard time finding something that worked with my dry-normal sensitive skin AND treated my acne. Thankfully, SkinID works for me! I did find that I absolutely need to let the treatment dry fully before putting on the hydrator or else my skin will get red and irritated. As long as I wait that minute, I\\\'ll only sometimes get a *tiny* bit red. That little bit of redness is worth it for clearing up my embarrassing adult acne (inflamed and not) without completely drying out my face or making it greasy.”

“I have used skinID for several months. Not much more of a difference from when I was using ProActive. I still get breakouts and I think they are worse than before. Also, I had requested THREE TIMES that my account be canceled. I just received another shipment and was charged the full price. Not worth the time, money or hassle. Guess my lawyer will be making my next call. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!”

“The product worked alright but the costumer service is seriously outrageous. I recently tried to cancel my membership with them, the representative told me the membership would be cancelled. I then got charged for the next shipment, so I called and they told me I was lying about canceling... I told the representative the name of the woman I had canceled with and she ended up getting on the phone to argue with me about what our conversation was about. I finally got them to cancel my account... They said I\\\'d get an email verification of the cancelation but I didn\\\'t, so I called the next day and was told by a different representative that the request never went through and she had to cancel for me. Worst costumer service experience EVER”

“I dont have Skin ID but fom some reviews I dont think I will use it. I use the Oil Free Scrub and it works well and also prevents pimples. But i just don't think that some of these people should put Neutrogena down because the product didnt work on their skin (allergic reaction?). I mean, did they even answer the questions truthfuly? I guess it depends on your skin type.”

“this product was absolutely horrible!!! I answered the questionaire stating I have dry and sensitive skin. After a week of using the regimen they sent me, my skin dried out so bad that it was peeling. I e-mailed asking for their "professional" opinion and stated the moisturizer wasn't working. their response was "call customer service for a free moisturizer." Did somebody not read my email which stated the MOISTURIZER DIDN'T WORK????? If they can't take the time to read my email and offer sensible suggestions, then they don't deserve my money!!!”

“I haven't used skinID yet. Though I have used proactive and it isn't working very well, nothing has changed. It's just made my skin more dry and itchy. I only get pimples on my forehead, nowhere else. I don't know why but I've tried many products and I'm getting sick of it. Hopefully skinID works, I ordered it. The real answer is products don't work on EVERYONE the same way, we're all different proactiv works for some skinID works for some. Our skin is all different. So just because it works for one doesnt mean it's going to work for everyone.”

“I used my skin regimen for the first time last night, in addition to the spot treatment. I was surprised to find this morning that a few of the pimples on my forehead had gone down considerably. They hadn't exactly gone away, but this was still a lot more than I was expecting just after using the product once. Though this is so, this morning I also woke up to find that the areas under both my eyes are puffy and red. They also itch and the skin burns slightly when I apply pressure. I am hoping this is just temporary, but if it persists I am going to have to stop using this product. Again, I am liking the quick results. Hopefully this irritation won't last long.”

“I want to start using Skin ID but, after reading all of the coments it's hard to make up my mind. But as I see it, I should atleast give it a TRY! What to loose? BTW most of the negative reviews were from allergic reactions, so for those with very UNSENSATIVE skin, GO FOR IT!!”

“The infomercial for skinID caught my eye one evening after work...they do an excellent job marketing the product with celebrity endorsements and real patient testimonials. I work in marketing so my professional side told me that it was too good to be true, however I really hoped it would be a solution. I waited anxiously for the product and after using it for about a month, have had no results. Still my normal breakouts so I've decided to return it. I previously tried Proactiv and had no success with the product. I have used multiple prescription medications from my dermatologist and still no luck. As a 25 year old male who continues to have acne since the early teen years, I'm still looking for a solid solution to get rid of acne or get in under control.”

“I'm an average teen when it comes to acne. I don't want it. but at times i tend to get bad break outs every now ad then. When I first used it, it felt great, so i followed the diections and used twice that day. I woke up to a swollen face and red itchy skin, which i still have. I made sure to tell them i had very sensitive skin in the evaluation, but it still ruined my skin.”

“Wish I'd found this site three days before I ordered Skin ID instead of three days after when I now have red, inflamed, peeling skin and the scariest zit I have ever had in my life. I also noticed once I received it that it has the exact same ingredients as the Neutrogena Microclear cream wash that I already had been using (and amazing! it only costs $8), not to mention the "customized plan" is the same that is advertised, as well as what people on these reviews said to have received. I have not tried calling customer service yet, and based on what I've read above...that seems like it's going to be a blast. Ugh!”

“Don't buy this product! It's not worth dealing with their customer service if there is a problem. I received my shipment today and found out that I had been enrolled in continuous shipments to be sent every 60 days. I immediately called, and after ten minutes on hold, was told by the rep all about how I should have read the small pink writing in the checkout cart that said that they would automatically charge my card. Because calling your customer stupid is such a great way to retain their business. My account is cancelled and good riddance! I also must say that I was extremely dissappointed with the size of the product. These are 2 fl oz. bottles that you are paying $10 a piece for! What a rip off!”

They itch, burn, and are growing/not going away even though I don't put the product near my eyes. “I have struggled with acne since I was a teenager. I'm in my late twenties and still suffer from it. I have tried every product on the market, been to dermatologists, and buy into the hype for whatever new product is being peddled by B-list celebrities. I had hit a wall, and decided to try SkinID. I used it for about a month when I realized that it was actually doing more harm than good. It was like I had new acne every day, only bigger and more obvious than before, and in places I've never gotten acne. I typically break out along my jawline, but now I have acne on my cheeks and forehead! I am going out on job interviews and feel that no one is focusing on my credentials and are only staring at the planets on my face! I am discontinuing my use of SkinID and can only hope that someday, a product will come out on the market that will rid me once and for all of this self-esteem crushing ailment.”

“Skin iD is absolutely horrible. I got on Monday, March 1st and today is Saturday, March 6th, and in that 5 day time frame, my skin has gotten so bad. Sure, I SUPPOSE it cleared some of the acne I had, but I also think Skin iD is what put it there in the first place. I had barely and acne before I stared using it on Monday. My face is now flakey and peeling, to the point where it's literally taking off layers of my skin and it's all red and I try to cover it up with makeup, but it just flakes off and keeps peeling; and I can't put ANYTHING on it or else it burns like hell. Also, it made my skin SO irritated and red from all the products. I will NEVER use this product again. I hope to return it in the next week. I will be SURE to give Customer Service a piece of my mind.”
